Stephanie has performed on stage and in films. Initially a stage actress, Ms. Richards Lawrence later made the transition to film. Acting has always been a passion. Stephanie committed to developing her acting skills in college when she was accepted to Averett University in Virginia for Theatre Arts and Speech and English Education. While at Averett, Stephanie also developed technical theatre and stage management experience. Two years later, Stephanie auditioned and was accepted into New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. It was at Tisch and Lee Strasberg that Stephanie blossomed as an actress and a director.
During her senior year at NYU, Stephanie took on an internship at the Society Hill Playhouse in Olde City Philadelphia, where she taught theatre and improv to high school students, in addition to doing technical theatre on the mainstage productions.
Upon graduation, Stephanie auditioned and was selected to join the Donald Welch (Don B. Welch) Theatre Group in Philadelphia. Stephanie appeared in several Don B. Welch plays including, Change Is Gonna Come, and Idella's Soul Shack, acting with the legendary, Mary Wilson of the Supremes and Will Smith's father, Willard Carroll Smith, Sr. Stephanie most recently performed in the award-winning film, M.O.T.H. (Matters of the Heart).
Stephanie aka Red has been directing her entire adult life. Under the auspices of Ripe Crop Performing Arts and Productions, LLC Stephanie has produced numerous events.
Stephanie founded a scene work group in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania called the ACTING SHACK. In 2017, Red as she is affectionately known, premiered her first full length play entitled, "HIM: EPISODE ONE" at the Sherman Showcase (Poconos) and The Touchstone Theatre (Bethlehem, PA). Presently, Stephanie is in the process of preparing for a 2020 film release of her stage-play.
Trained at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and the Lee Strasberg, Stephanie is passionate about teaching youth and adults in the performing arts. Stephanie has taught acting to elementary age students, high school students and adults. She enjoys motivating her students to come alive both on stage and in film. "Scene work is sharpening the blade for an actor," says Stephanie.
Stephanie aka Red, has been hosting the talk show – Keeping It Raw with Red on Worldhyperadio.com for over a year now. In 2018, Red was offered an opportunity to host her own talk show on Worldhyperadio.com. The show features guests who are focused on helping people to progress in pursuit of their passions. Guests include: Counselors, Authors, Filmmakers, Playwrights, Pastors, world-renowned Casting Directors, Directors and Artists. Stephanie's first performed stage-play, HIM EPISODE ONE was presented first as a public reading in 2017 at the Sherman Showcase in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Later, the script was transformed on the stage of the Touchstone Theatre in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Presently in preparation for conversion onto the screen, Stephanie's film is scheduled for a 2020 premiere.
